My son, the genius

Ok, so he is not a genius, but he is darn funny and I finally got it on film. The entire ordeal took about 5 seconds because the television was on and he was determined to watch it.

Crazy creatures of habit

Me (10 minutes after giving birth, so be nice!!!) and Charlee!

My best friend, Charlee, is sick. Again. She tends to work herself into the ground and push too hard. This is the 4th time this year.

Tonight she said, "I am sick, I have worked 60 hours last week, and I have not bought a single Christmas present." To which I responded...

"Wait, wait, wait!! Rewind the tape 1 year exactly. Last year, you said, 'It is the week before Thanksgiving and I am sick. I am overwhelmed and have worked 60 hours and I have yet to buy a single Christmas gift.' And the year before, we went the week before Christmas to a last-minute Mervyns sale because you had worked 60 hours .... One of these days, we will learn, huh?"

This is the third year I am sick for Thanksgiving (okay, in all fairness, last year it was morning sickness...), but I realize that I am a creature of habit.

But then I re-read my New Year's resolutions from the beginning of this year. These are the resolutions exactly as I wrote them on January 1st:

1) I will do everything I can to have a healthy pregnancy and delivery including being more assertive with my health care professionals to have questions answered and my fears addressed.

2)I will be a mom first and an employee second. I will make professional sacrifices for the benefit of my new baby.

3)I will learn about myself as I take the journey to be a mother. I will find myself regardless of my weight, my hairstyle, and my income.

4)I will attend the temple at least once a month until I have the new baby.

5)I will give up one vice. I will decide what that vice is after the baby is born. :)

I can honestly say I am 100% on my resolutions except: my vice is Diet Pepsi Wild Cherry. No go. And I don't think it is going to happen this year. I can totally change my identity from working professional to mom, I can chop 21 inches off my hair, but I can't stop myself from popping a tab open.

Maybe next year. And maybe next year Charlee will not be overworked and will start her Christmas shopping early.

I will not hold my breath.

Merry Christmas... Early

Santa came early to our house. Aiden got a highchair! (Mom was tired of being slimed). Aiden also learned to spit... and not just in displeasure. He spits when he is happy, sad, angry disgusted, overjoyed... anytime.

Aiden tried peas for the first time tonight. He didn't like them. And he spit in disgust. Mom decided that "shower a la pureed peas" is not sexy.

Ding, ding round two

Curse the swine flu. We are all sick... again. Or still.

And congratulations to Cousin Shiree... she got her purple belt today. She worked so hard and we were honored to go to the belt test on Saturday. She went to the ceremony tonight. Woot! Woot!

Rock and Roll and Sleeeeeep

Ok, the rock: my brother hit a rock yesterday in his work truck ad now has the flu today. Poor guy has had a rough 24 hours.

Roll: Aiden rolled over for the first time today!!! See picture below. I think it was purely on accident, but the flailing finally paid off for him!!

Sleeeeeep: Aiden and I had a three hour nap. THREE hours. Then, he slept for another 2 hours, ate dinner, and went back to bed for the night. Aiden never sleeps more than 20 minutes at a time. I WAS SO EXCITED!!! AND WELL RESTED!!!

Ah! Sundays. I love them.
