Michael fed Aiden chocolate frosting. I think I have an addict on my hands.

Beautiful Beautiful Day
Aiden and I spent some time in Fernwood by where I grew up. It was magnificent.
My home town.
My new house. KIDDING!! The Layton castle by Fernwood.
The last of the fastastic fall foliage.
After walking in the woods, we went to a play that was written, directed, and acted by 2 nieces. The cast included all their younger siblings and was titled "A Pioneer Legacy". Fantastic fun!

And Aiden started cereal today...and loves it!!! MMMmmm...

But the outfit does not like cereal. My little man is growing up.

You do the math
4 month checkup = shots
shots = sad baby
sad baby = sad mom
sad mom = tylenol and cuddles for baby
cuddles = sleeping baby
sleeping baby = happy mom
happy mom = happy everything
Yes, baby Aiden had his 4 month checkup today. We have a totally rockin' pediatrician named Dr. Martini. She is hilarious and a fantastic pediatrician. So besides the shots, here is the lowdown on the appointment:
Weight: 13 pounds even (in the 15th percentile)
Length: 24 1/2 inches (in the 50th percentile)
(baby is still short and skinny)
Dr. Martini said that he is a happy, healthy little guy and she adores him. He is on day #10 on the swine flu and she loved the fact that mom handled it without bringing him to the ER. (Yay, mom!!)
She did, however, say that Mom has pneumonia. I am not happy. But it gives me an excuse to stay home from work and snuggle my boy.

Overdid it... and totally worth it
Mister A is asleep after a beautiful walk through the park and fun time on the swings. Poor bug. Mom wore him out.
65 Degrees and BEAUTIFUL!!I am so very sick. Swine flu is icky. But how can you be inside and sick on a day like today? So I got up and dressed and got going.
I had a fantastic afternoon with my son. I had some leftover toast from fondue night and we took it to feed the ducks at the 'ducky park'. We had a lovely time and the weather cooperated.
Eventually, we outran them.
Then home for dinner for dill and garlic salmon, roasted asparagus, and spaghetti squash. Then to bed with Nyquil and cough drops. Nighty night..
What a difference a year makes...
One year ago today, I went to the doctor after a very long week of waiting. It was confirmed that the in vitro was successful and I had a baby on the way. Oh, what a difference this year has made. Looking back, I would not have changed a thing. I realize that the stress throughout the pregnancy was to prepare me for what was ahead and point my life in a direction to truly love being a mom.
One year ago today, Chris (my brother), Michael (my nephew), Amanda (his wife), and Gracie (their baby), went to MacCools to celebrate. I remember that I had the Potatoes Au Gratin and we sat and talked until Gracie's bedtime. That crew, Charlee, Steph, Justin, and Kari were my cheerleading squad then and still are now. I love them all.
I didn't think could let my professional life go when I had a baby, but when the company I was working for shut down, I didn't have much of a choice...and that was quickly followed by the doctor saying there would be many many problems with Aiden.
So, when Aiden was born, he was much healthier than I expected and the job that I worked at was part time, but paying enough for our needs.
God has a way of knowing what we need and preparing us - some times in a way we don't think is helpful.
I wouldn't trade this life for anything, no matter how stressful. To celebrate today we are going to feed the duckies at the park. Mom even saved up special bread to be able to go. The simple things in life are truly free...

Thanks for sharing
My "Fog that Says Bibbitt"
In order to fit this costume, I had to stuff Aiden into his snowsuit and then put the froggie over the snowsuit. Poor bug is so little...
On our Halloween trick-or-treating, my neice, Anna (who is three), came up to me and said, "You baby is a wittle fog. Him says Bibbitt, bibbitt." It was SO darn cute!!
Aiden was a tree frog this year. It was fitting, I think, because... have you ever seen his toes?? But, since Aiden is getting over the flu, we had a bit of a long day.
We went to do the trick-or-treating rounds with Aunt Lisa and her kids and Uncle Bret and his kids. (the Tigger in the picture is Cousin Marshall who is 2 weeks older than Aiden. Cute litte guy...)
After 1 neighborhood, Aiden was DONE!! So we went to Smedleys for dinner and a movie. He fell asleep early on and was glad to be warm. Fondue and Clue, the movie. Best Halloween movie ever.
So, Lisa's boy Bridger took Aiden's candy bag around and scored lots of candy. And the best part is that he is only 4 months old so the candy was really scored for mom!!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
