Around the world in 80 minutes

Today I had the HOTTEST date.  He is a blonde blue-eyed beauty.

He took me around the world in almost an hour and a half...

We started in the Ol' West.  The cowpoke was ridin' the pony.

He was squealing with joy at this point.

Then we went to the Indian Camp and sat by the campfire inside the teepee.

Then to the African safari where Aiden threw hippos at a 2 year old girl.  We quickly moved on.  Safaris are not for us.

To the music room.

Became the president and enjoyed the Oval Office.

Cute little president, eh?

Became the king of a giant kingdom.
And sauced his pants.  King Poopy Pants.
Yeah, that is a cool name.

Then back home to fight fires.

Became a conductor for a train yard.  Bashed them against each other and caused mayhem in the tiny train city.

Then home because check out these eyes!!  Time for bed.

My mommy and me had a great day at the Treehouse Museum.

So, we went to Ogden to the Treehouse Museum and Aiden loved it.  I am so glad that we have our Friday Dates.  It was a great day.  I love this little man.

Update:  Day 1 with no caffeine.  Sooooo tired.  So, very tired.  I crave it so much.  I didn't realize that it was this bad.  Hopefully, I can hold out.  But my heart is back to normal and my kidneys feel great.

My own caffeinated Benadict Arnold

I am betrayed.  Again.

My favorite vice, Diet Pepsi, has betrayed me and tonight we said our final goodbyes.  We have to cool our relationship.  This isn't the first time Diet Pepsi has betrayed me.

But I am getting older and the Pepsi is getting colder.  My kidneys are screaming, my heart is racing, and my head is aching.  All because of that darned Diet Siren... Ok. It is really effecting me. My body is all screwed up and it only happens when I drink my lovely soda.

So, we tonight we had a final drink and a final goodbye.

Farewell, you traitorous fiend.

My friends are whacked!

Sam and Anna came over tonight for dinner.  It was good to see them both.  Yay for Anna living in Utah now, although a Wisconsin gal in Ogden is in for a shock.

And they were cute with my boy!!

Yeah.  My friends have issues.  At least Sam knows what a monkey says.

Actually it was really fun.

Thanks, my friends!!!

What it means to me...

There was a conversation today with a sister about what being a Mom means.  And it got me thinking about what it means to me.  So as I sat singing The Wheels on the Bus for the umpteeth time this evening, I thought about this.

Being a Mom means:

  • Watching my baby sleep and feeling jealous that I can't play with him when he sleeps
  • Triaging my finances.  Goldfish crackers now come before my socks.
  • Filtering my mouth, my thoughts and my actions because my little monkey copies me.
  • Realizing that spirituality is more important than independence.  And wanting my son to feel the same way.
  • Understanding Moms in the grocery store that look haggard and unkempt... because their child looks about the same age as mine.
  • Walking the halls during Relief Society and realizing that I haven't made it through a single church meeting since he was born.
  • Appreciating the little things like 2 minutes to paint my toenails in peace.
  • Singing Primary songs and attempting to remember words I have not sung in over 20 years.
  • Having lopsided conversations that consist of "Yayyyy!!", "Baba", "MaMa" and "MMMMmmmmm"
  • Loving every minute of being a Mom.
I know I have said it before, but I was told that when you have children you think twice - one for yourself, one for your child.  I disagree.  You only think once.  Once for your child.  You stop thinking about yourself entirely.  And I realize that being a parent makes a person less selfish.  It is the great humbler.

My name is Becki and I am a Momaholic.

Biddulph Family Campout

We hiked, ate, sang, laughed, played, and went on many grand adventures...

Aunt Lisa knows how to take a boy on a hike.  She has 5 of them!!

Tater fell asleep on the hike.  Breanna was so good to take him.

We all hiked to Wall Lake.  It was lovely and a great workout!

Enjoying dinner!!

Our Camping bathtub.  Aiden loved it!!

Washington Lake.  Me and My Mommy!

Aiden trying to figure out the flashlight...

All of Mom's siblings.  Teresa, Glen, Kari, Jodi, Bret, Chris, Lisa and Mom!

Blue and Green Flames!  Uncle Bret had copper pipes that change the flames.  It was so cool!!

Grandma Sharon!  What a trooper.  She busted her glasses during one of the crazy games!

What a beautiful place.  We were so lucky!
