When I was young, older people were, well, old. So-and-so's mom was old. They had old people's church callings. They had old people's jobs. They drove old people's cars, like mini-vans.
I was at a baby shower for a friend today in my old neighborhood. Most of the people are the same from when I lived there. And they all look exactly the same as when I was itty bitty.
And I won't add up the years because then I would realize that when I was young, they were... my age now. It would be too heart-wrenching. I realize that and then I cry. Then I wonder who thinks that I am old.
I don't feel old.
